Andrew Meads
I started my career working in the customer service sector reaching a managerial role for a large organisation. After being in this role I decided on a change of career and the funeral industry really appealed to me.
I started working for a large organisation and gained much knowledge and experience in all aspects of a busy Funeral Home.
I now feel I want to start my own funeral business to serve the community of Wythenshawe and the surrounding Manchester areas giving bereaved families the utmost professionalism, care, respect and dignity at a competitive price.
Neil Macdonald
Thanks so much for looking at our web site my name is Neil Macdonald and back in 1984, i left school that was then South Manchester High School.
I started my career with the co-op funeral service. I did my training over 3 years under the guides of two very good funeral directors which when I look back stood me in good stead in my profession over the years ahead. After doing my training with the co-op I went to work in the private sector for two small family businesses by which time I had helped and seen a lot of familys through times of bereavement and at this time I felt there was still so much to do and learn so I took 12 years out of funerals and started as a aux nurse at Wythenshawe hospital.
I then worked my way into Salford community health care. My time spent there was to care and to look after sick and terminal people in within the community. After seven years with all the skills I had gained with working within the nursing profession I felt it was time to return with those skills to the funeral profession. Now having so much more knowledge and understanding of life, compassion, understanding and empathy. I felt this knowledge would make me a better funeral director.
I now feel that I have fulfilled what I had set out to do in both of these professions, I have worked in and around my home town Wythenshawe for a number of years for the co-op group and now have the opportunity to set up my own funeral home called Wythenshawe funeral services for the people of Wythenshawe, to serve the community to the best of my ability in times of bereavement giving an affordable dignified caring service to all.
